Alan Shipnuck was recently in controversy after he included Phil Mickelson’s allegedly ‘off-the-record’ statements in his biography. Mickelson admitted that he had said all the things Shipnuck mentioned in his book. But did not agree to allow him to do so. However, that is not all Shipnuck has been through after the controversy. He recently responded to new false news about the PGA Tour and their behavior with reporters.

Alan Shipnuck responds to PGA Tour rumors on Twitter

Shipnuck has been on the news after Mickelson blamed him to use Lefty’s unauthorized statements in his biography. But that is not all. After the incident, Shipnuck was pushed out of a LIV Golf press conference of Phil Mickelson. The reporter claimed that Greg Norman was responsible for this behavior and condemned the incident.

Nonetheless, a golf page recently tweeted some essential information that Carlos Ortiz revealed. According to the tweet, one of Ortiz’s reporter friends was reportedly banned from covering PGA Tour events for 30 days. He said that it was in response to covering a LIV Golf event.

But Shipnuck completely disregarded the information and said “there has to be more to this”. He added that many reporters have covered both PGA Tour and LIV Golf events without any hindrances. He also revealed that he recently covered three LIV Golf tournaments and will be present at the Tour Championship in the upcoming week.

Shipnuck points out threats on PGA by LIV Golf

In a recent interview with Golf Monthly, Shipnuck called the PGA Tour “fat and complacent”. According to the author, PGA Tour never had any competition in the past and had become carefree of any threats. However, since the LIV Golf league has come into existence, the tour has been facing some “serious competition”.

He also said that the PGA Tour has been “terrible” at using social media, while LIV Golf is making full use of it. But a bigger problem for the former tour is the transition of its top players to the new Saudi-funded league. And with the new formats introduced by Greg Norman, players hardly have second thoughts before joining in.
