Justin Thomas recently opened up about his relationship with Tiger Woods. It is no surprise that the two share a close relationship and have, on more than one occasion, spoken positively about each other.
Just last week, Thomas was part of the victorious team that beat Europe with a record-breaking score of 19-9. In conversation about that, the 28-year-old emerged on the podcast ‘Call Him Papi’ where he spoke about Woods, playing golf with Michael Jordan, and his relationship with other top golfers.

‘Call Him Papi’ is a podcast show hosted by David Ortiz, a former professional baseball player, and Jared Carrabis, a baseball journalist. In their seventh episode, they hosted Justin Thomas, who revealed his thoughts on his friendship with Woods.

In conversation about being under Tiger Woods’ wing and playing alongside him, Thomas says, “I never could’ve dreamed of it. If you liked golf, you’re obsessed with him. It’s the reason why I practice so much. I wanted to do the things that he did and then somehow to develop a relationship and friendship with him. It is bizarre, I never thought it would happen.”

He said, “I think we have very similar personalities and very similar, obviously, interests; in both wanting to play well. But I mean, we’re both just dudes who like the bullshit and just make fun of each other and just be sarcastic and you know just kind of do what guys do. And I think he has a lot of people and times around them that are always, you know, kind of bowing down to him you know.”
Moreover, he explained the casual relationship that exists between them where they can speak their mind. He said, “If he does something stupid I’m going to tell him that. Or if he’s you know, hits a bad shot, I’m going to tell him it was a bad shot because there’s not very many people that are out there that are willing to do that. So, I think that’s kind of how our friendship has gotten so close.”
