What does the Olympics mean for Matt Fitzpatrick? “It would probably be right under there, just under a major,” said the Englishman, alluding to the 2024 Paris Games. The prestigious event this year will witness a lot of perks, including major exemptions up for grabs and the 29-year-old will surely be hoping to clinch that gold medal for the same. However, as with every team, he is not alone in representing his country.
The country of Great Britain has a total of four golfers who hope to claim a podium finish at the 2024 Olympics. Tommy Fleetwood will be accompanying Matt Fitzpatrick in representing his country at the men’s tournament, while Charley Hull and Georgia Hall will tee off at the women’s event on August 7.

1. Matt Fitzpatrick: The athlete will be teeing off at his first-ever Olympics appearance owing to his ranking at No. 11 on the International Golf Rankings. The 2022 U.S. Open champ will also look to increase his professional win tally of 11, nine of which he raked in through the DP World Tour, including the major. And when asked about the quadrennial event, the golfer, had very high expectations. “It’s something different,” divulged the 2-time PGA Tour champ, “something I haven’t done before, so I’m definitely looking forward to it.” Who knows, he might be able to pull off a Justin Rose and clinch a medal in his debut!

2. Tommy Fleetwood: Being inside the top 15 on the OWGR sure did work out well for the 33-year-old, allowing him to earn a spot on the Olympic team. Interestingly, this will be his second golf outing at the prestigious event, the first of which came in 2021 at the Tokyo Olympics (2020). The 7-time DP World Tour champ had, back then, finished T16 tied with 5 other athletes. But will he be able to make a turnaround and win the gold medal? That is something his fans will have to wait for and find out.
3. Charley Hull: The 28-year-old has a total of six professional wins in her career, two of which came on the LPGA Tour. The 3-time LET champ, meanwhile, will be making her second appearance at the quadrennial event. Her first Olympics in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro saw her professional card a 276, allowing her to finish T7 tied with two other golfers, including Minjee Lee and Brooke Henderson. Coming back to the present, the Kettering native will surely have her eyes on a podium finish as she represents Great Britain.
4. Georgia Hall: The 1-time major champ will be making her debut at the prestigious event when the field of golfers tees off on August 7. But interestingly, it won’t be her first time representing the country at such an event for she had, back in 2013, won two gold medals at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival. Moreover, the athlete was also the flagbearer for Great Britain at the opening ceremony. A gold medal on her debut would sound just as good for the 28-year-old.
