A loved one beside you during hardship works wonders. Imagine then, if it was good times that hit you. The former would have been the case with Jon Rahm when he rampaged through the scoreboard at Le Golf National in Paris before finishing T5. As a result, curiosity naturally arises among his fans as to whether his wife Kelley Cahill was beside him on his probable road to triumph.

The Spaniard’s wife, unfortunately, hasn’t been spotted yet in Paris till now. Neither has the LIV Golf Pro mentioned anything about his family being there to support him. That’s not all. The athlete’s partner was also absent when he emerged victorious for the first time in the Saudi-backed league’s event in the UK (remember when he topped the scoreboard with a 13-under overall at JCB Golf and Country Club?).

Moreover, Rahm had also mentioned in the post-round interview back then how she was not in the best of conditions. “It hasn’t been the easiest year for our family,” admitted the golfer, “Kelley and I have gone through quite a bit, and she has gone through even more, being on bedrest among many other things.” Interestingly, the athlete had revealed back in March how his wife was pregnant with the couple’s third child.

“Officially moving to zone defense,” tweeted the Spanish professional while disclosing the happy news to the world, “baby Rahm #3 coming soon!” The 29-year-old shared a picture of himself alongside his wife and two kids, Kepa and Eneko. The oldest child had his hand on a three-picture strip of an ultrasound.

Now, it appears the pregnancy has had its complications with his wife being on bedrest and not beside the 2023 Masters champ when he is representing his country Spain. Although it is unfortunate, Cahill looking after herself and the soon-to-be-born baby’s health does paint a hopeful picture for the family of four (at the moment) including the two kids. It’s just that she won’t be able to witness Rahm’s run at the Olympics.

The Spaniard is currently duking it out in what is his first run at the quadrennial event. After the third day’s play, he was able to place himself at the top of the table with a score of 14-under. However, a not-so-favorable run at the back nine on Sunday forced him to place tied at T5 alongside Rory McIlroy with a figure of 15-under. Seems truly unfortunate, for the golfer had expressed his desire to win a gold medal at the prestigious event before teeing it off in Paris.

“I think right now for a lot of people, it may not have the significance it will have in the future,” said the professional, “But I think for all of us competing, to own a gold medal and earn a gold medal is something that very few people in history can do. To be able to add to your country’s medal count is something special. It’s basically a dream come true.” Well, it appears winning the gold medal will still have to remain a dream for Jon Rahm, a dream which he will have to make true the next time around!
