Is England’s Olympic dreams in jeopardy? One can’t help but ask the same, especially after Charley Hull’s injury ahead of the Amundi Evian Championship. Although she did tee off at the major, a missed cut at the same was more than enough to paint a concerning picture yet again for the athlete. However, she is not alone now. The 28-year-old’s best friend, Georgia Hall, also appears to be not on the best of terms when it comes to her health.

A post was shared by Hall on her Instagram handle pointing out how she finished T17 after being hit with an injury ahead of the Amundi Evian Championship at the Pro-Am; “T17 @evianchamp after considering withdrawing Thursday AM due to a neck/shoulder injury, proud of the way I battled, At least my backswing was more compact. 5 weeks on the road and now a much-needed few at home to recharge and get fit.”

The golfer placed herself at the 17th spot while being tied with the likes of golfers such as Aditi Ashok, So Mi Lee, Gemma Dryburgh, and Chanettee Wannasaen. She did so while scoring 7-under 277 with figures of 69-67-71-70 over the four days of play. Moreover, she was even able to rake in a cut of $95,988 from the total prize pool.

When Georgia Hall was queried about her injury, she said, “My shoulder has been a bit tight for a couple of weeks but no problems at all.” The LPGA Tour Pro then recounted her experience at the Pro-Am ahead of the major when she was warming up, “I hit a couple, and it went straight away and locked up on me, kind of my upper back. I only saw six holes of the course before teeing it up yesterday [Thursday].”

The injury even caused her to struggle on the front nine on Friday. “I’m injured, so I was actually worse than yesterday,” said Hall before expressing determination to play out the round at Evian Resort Golf Club. “I’m just trying to make contact with the ball. I’m thrilled with the way I’m playing at the moment. I’ll see the physio in a minute and try and make it better, but that’s literally my priority, just to play today.” Although she did push her way through the contest, the same cannot be said for her fellow Englishwoman, who was forced to withdraw from an event ahead of the major.

Charley Hull also faced an injury concern like Georgia Hall

Can Georgia Hall overcome health issues like Charley Hull and shine at the Paris Olympics?

Have an interesting take?

Hull was forced to pull out of the Aramco Team Series in London after just six rounds owing to a shoulder injury. Moreover, her missing the cut at the Amundi Evian Championship also didn’t paint a very promising picture for the athlete. She could only score a figure of 79-69 over the two days of play causing her to fall well below the cutline.

Georgia Hall’s best friend had also expressed her disappointment at her situation the week before. She said, “I had to withdraw from @aramcoteamseries London following medical advice, due to ongoing pain in my right shoulder following a nasty fall on Sunday night.” That’s not all. The 2-time LPGA Tour champ also conveyed her apologies to the fans and spectators who came out to see her back then, “Sorry to the fans who came out to watch, my playing partners for leaving you after 6 holes, and to all.”

Although the two golfers did come down with an injury, it doesn’t seem as if their participation at the upcoming Paris Olympics will be affected. Especially so since Georgia Hall had divulged her plans to rest for a few days to get fit!
