Is Charley Hull risking too much by pushing through her shoulder injury for the Paris Olympics?

“I’m so disappointed,” said a sad Charley Hull after withdrawing from the Aramco Team Series in London. The golfer suffered a shoulder injury from a “nasty fall” before the event, causing her to pull out of the game after six rounds of play. But her fans can rest easy now, all thanks to a health update that the pro shared.

Hull shared a video on her Instagram story of herself hitting balls on the range during a practice session. She captioned it, “Good lesson with my coach, able to turn through the ball now, shoulder feels better,” alluding to her recent health concern.

The update comes off as nothing short of great news for Hull’s ardent fans, especially after she missed the cut at the Amundi Evian Championship the week after her withdrawal. She carded figures of 79-69 over Thursday and Saturday, causing her to miss the cut at the major.

The week before, Charley Hull had divulged the reason for withdrawing from the Aramco Team Series in London on her Instagram, expressing regret and disappointment: “I had to withdraw from @aramcoteamseries London following medical advice, due to ongoing pain in my right shoulder following a nasty fall on Sunday night. I’m so disappointed… Sorry to the fans who came out to watch, my playing partners for leaving you after 6 holes, and to all.”

The recent video shared on her social media fortunately paints a hopeful picture of the golfer’s shoulder. Now, she just needs to wait for her bestie Georgia Hall to recover from her injury to represent their country at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“Proud of the way I battled,” conveyed Hall as she shared a pic of herself at the major championship at Evian Resort Golf Club. She was able to finish T17 despite being riddled with “a neck/shoulder injury.” She also revealed her plans to take a break from the sport for a few days or weeks depending on the severity of the issue; “At least my backswing was more compact. 5 weeks on the road and now a much-needed few at home to recharge and get fit.”
