Field of the 2023 US Senior Open
A field of 156 players will compete in the tournament, including the defending champion from 2022, Padraig Harrington.
Harrington won the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open last week and he should fancy his chances heading into the event which attracted more than 3,000 entries.
Last year at the US Senior Open, Harrington beat Steve Stricker, the 2019 champion, by one stroke to secure the title.
Harrington and the 12 other previous Senior Open Champions are fully exempt for this event.
Kenny Perry, a two-time winner, is also one of the favourites to lift the trophy heading into the first round.
Other notables names playing in the event are: Ernie Els, Colin Montgomerie and Vijay Singh.
The course in Wisconsin is built over 200 acres of lush terrain with 35 acres of spring-fed lakes. The course boasts birch and pine trees as well as five acres of flowerbeds.
The course is considered to be player-friendly. The golf course’s signature hole is the par-3 16, with a sea of vibrant and colorful flowers all around catching the eye.
