The internal conflict that has been raging in the golf industry has now been resolved. The PGA Commissioner shocked the whole golf community a few days ago when he revealed that the PGA Tour would shortly merge with its greatest rival, LIV Golf. The astonishing formation will include an investment of more than $3 billion in the PGA Tour.

Many people began speculating about the rationale behind the merger after the announcement. Brandel Chamblee, one of the most vocal detractors of LIV golf, has already provided his justification for the forthcoming creation. And right now, fans are waiting for his Twitter foe to speak up.

Everyone is waiting for Phil Mickelson to appear for an interview following the merger announcement so he can discuss his feelings towards the union. Lefty had already expressed his joy at the merger’s completion as soon as it was made public. He wrote, “Awesome day today.”

A schedule of all the players that are anticipated to conduct interviews prior to the US Open competition has recently been released by Golf Channel reporter Brentley Romine on his official Twitter account. He wrote: U.S. Open interview schedule is out. Feel like @TheShotgunStart hijacked Monday afternoon… just hope the guys stick around after the real OBJ and Berry Henson to ask Cam Smith if his favorite fruit has changed.”

But it doesn’t appear like Lefty will be on the podium anytime soon. It’s bizarre that the six time major winner, who consistently asserts that LIV Golf will ultimately be beneficial for the sport and its international growth, has remained silent about one of the most significant events in the professional game’s history. However, another LIV golfer is obviously not keeping his opinions regarding the merger a secret.

Bryson DeChambeau open up about his take on the merger

Bryson DeChambeau was one of the first A-list names from the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf last year. After the merger, he appeared live on CNN Primetime to discuss what he felt about the decision. Anchor Kaitlan Collins asked DeChambeau if he felt that PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan, was hypocritical because he has been critiquing LIV Golf since day one and now agrees to join hands with it.

DeChambeau responded to that by expressing sympathy for the PGA Tour athletes who were misled. Moreover, what has been said to LIV golfers has become reality. “I do feel bad for the PGA Tour players because they were told one thing and something else happened, and our side, we were told one thing and it’s come to fruition,” DeChambeau said.

The merger, according to him, was the best thing to ever happen to golf. Players will encounter something novel as a result of this, and ultimately, golf will only gain. “I truly believe the game of golf wins,” said DeChambeau.

The golf community as a whole can best serve its players by giving them some time and providing them with accurate information about the reasons behind the merger. This will make the merger more smooth.

But Mickelson’s stance still remains unheard. Do you think he will address the issue anytime soon? Let us know in the comments down below.
