Being a digital content creator is not an easy job. In a world full of social media rave on apps like Tik Tok and Instagram, where the attention span of the audience is getting shorter by the day, being a creator is a very tough job, and Paige Spiranac is doing it very well.

Currently, the golf beauty has a following of 3.7 million on Instagram, even more than ace golf player, Tiger Woods. Of course, this astounding fan base was not easy to earn, and Spiranac has been persistent in her efforts towards achieving this goal. But despite all of her accomplishments, Paige finds it hard to get on network television.

Paige Spiranac opens up about facing backlash from sports journalism

Recently Spiranac conducted an Ask Me a Question session on Instagram, where her fans directly registered their questions with her official account. During this session, answering a fan’s question about whether she will ever get into sports journalism, the golf diva made a huge confession. She said –

“A lot of you asked if I am to get into commentating or TV work and it’s not something I am just like hey, I am gonna do it, and then you do it. They don’t want you. And traditional media is scared of me; they don’t want to work with me.

She further revealed the rejection received from the sports journalism industry “From what I have been told is that I am unpredictable because of all the digital content that I create and they are worried that I don’t have a filter. But I am a Pro. I know what to say and what ain’t to say.” The ex pro golfer admits that the way she uses her content might be a factor that holds the sports media world back from working with her. But she also expressed that she is smart enough to know what to say on camera, and what not.

Prejudice and sexism faced by Spiranac

Spiranac has always been very vocal about her opinions and is aware of the indirect criticism aimed at her. Recently she criticized player Nate Lashley for his sexist comments made on her when she took a side on the recent debate of the slow pace of golf. Paige has to face these comments on a regular basis when someone questions her credibility to comment on Golf, as she is no longer a professional player.

Despite playing golf as a professional Spiranac had to give up her career because of the intense pressure she felt. But showcasing strength, the influencer didn’t move to another field and went ahead to create a career in Golf as an influencer, and has ended up becoming a social media sensation.
