Ain’t no doubt about it—the majors are golf’s biggest stage. Even LIV Golfer, Brooks Koepka, agrees with that. He even pointed out how not performing well at the majors has impacted his overall performance in the LIV season. Despite winning Singapore and Greenbrier,  he shared a post on Instagram writing his concerns. The post read, “The majors were terrible. I put a lot of emphasis on those, and just cutting those wasn’t—that’s how I judge my year.” However, the defending champion of the US Open, Bryson DeChambeau, has a different story to narrate.

In contrast, to Koepka, the 2 time US Open winner has shared a concern that just winning the majors isn’t enough for him. Last year, the golfer only won the major and left the victories column in the LIV events at zero. However, now with the start of the 2025 season, he has started out strong with a runner-up finish at the International Series India and T6 at the LIV Golf Riyadh.

The golfer ahead of his third appearance has made clear statements for winning, irrespective of events. During the press conference of LIV Golf Adelaide, the golfer was questioned about his victory-less 2024 in LIV schedule, “How important is it to get a win out here individually this season and kind of get back to that form?”

Answering that, DeChambeau said, “Yeah, every time I tee it up, I want to win. Last year everybody said, oh, you’re just focused on the majors. Well, no, I was focused every time I went out and played a golf tournament.” The wins didn’t come, but the fight was there! In 2024, he tallied seven top-10s, two top-5s, T3 at LIV Golf Nashville, runner-up at the PGA Championship, and T6 at the Masters. He’s due for a big one.

Further, he pointed out what he was looking for, irrespective of the event. He said, “But what I’m really looking for is a golf swing that is just a little bit more consistent and repeatable. “I’m getting close. I’m getting really, really close.” Sharing about the impressive performance at the US Open, he expressed how he had the ideal swing at the event, which eventually helped him clinch the victory.

He recalled his greatest round at LIV Golf Invitational Greenbrier, where he shot a final-round 58 to win by 5 strokes. Concluding the answer, he said, “I’m always striving to get back to that place and just trying to learn what exactly clicked in that manner.” Now, to have a better season, can the 2-time LIV Golf winner find his swing? Let’s see.

Off-schedule practice has him ready for LIV fairways, to wow the fans, and probably win? After the head start, DeChambeau, with the first event of the LIV calendar, featured in Riyadh, where he continued to perform consistently recording 69-66-68 in three rounds to finish in sixth position. Coming off a savage 66 in round two, DeChambeau’s could flex harder than he did at Greenbrier.

Even at the LIV Golf Adelaide, after the first round he finished at T4 with a round of 68. Starting the season with decent under 70 strokes in each round is showcasing great consistency. However, finding his great swing similar to his US Open and Greenbrier in 23 is still a question. What are your predictions for Bryson DeChambeau’s 2025 schedule?
