It’s Patrick Reed in the news again! But this time, courtesy of his lawyer, Larry Klayman. The advocate for the LIV golfer took to comment on the verdict that was passed not too long ago ordering his client to pay compensation to Brandel Chamblee and the other media outlets. Moreover, he revealed his decision to appeal to the same, all the while taking a jab at the PGA Tour and the “unethical fake news golf media.”
A tweet was shared by Bob Harig, reiterating the words of Klayman as he made his declaration. Reed’s lawyer mentioned how the media and the men’s circuit “must be held to account for their callous and malicious attempts” in trying to “destroy” his client and LIV Golf “for clicks and profits.”
Klayman says he will appeal: “The dishonest and unethical fake news golf media, in the hip pocket of and dependent on the PGA Tour, must be held to account for their callous and malicious attempts to destroy Mr. Reed, as a means to try to destroy LIV Golf, for clicks and profits” https://t.co/fAGach1M0d

Patrick Reed’s lawyer doubles down on the verdict
Although Reed decided to sue the media outlets and their employees for “spreading lies” about the golfer, U.S. District Judge Timothy J. Corrigan went ahead and ruled against the claims. Moreover, he also stated how the “amended complaints” that were put forward do not have any “actionable defamation claims” to them. Following the same, on 5 January 2024, Saturday, a Florida Federal magistrate, ordered the LIV golfer to pay the defendants money as recompense.

Back in 2022, Klayman had pointed out how “The PGA Tour’s and its ‘partner’ the NBC’s Golf Channel” is out on a “mission.” Elaborating on the same, he mentioned how they have aimed their sights at ” a top LIV Golf Tour player, his family, as well as all of the LIV Golf players.” Besides, he also said the above parties engaged in the act “to further their agenda and alleged collaborative efforts to destroy” the Saudi-backed league.
However, after the ruling that came out recently, Reed’s attorney pointed out how the judge being a member of the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, where Jay Monahan is also a member deems him “demonstrably biased.” Continuing on, he also expressed his confidence in the judicial system as the lawyer declared how “all of the prejudiced and unlawful rulings of Judge Corrigan will be reversed on appeal” while conveying his hope for true justice.
