After a massively successful campaign at Down Under, LIV Golf moves to Lion City. Adelaide saw 94,000 spectators thronging to the Grange on a relatively rain-free weekend. In Singapore, the story is a little different. The overcast sky of the Sentosa Golf Club awaits Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Joaquin Niemann, and others.
High precipitation throughout the weekend spells sporadic rain and the weather forecast predicts thunderstorms to move in by Friday itself. Last year, Talor Gooch kept his red-hot form alive even though rain tried to dampen his spirit. This year, too, the eventual champion—Jon Rahm, again is the hot favorite, unsurprisingly—might have to keep their momentum alive after a weather delay as the Sentosa braces for a rain-soaked weekend.

In fact, precipitation keeps rising throughout the weekend. In the first round, there will be 61% precipitation. But, that rises by 7% the next day. On Sunday, precipitation is set to reach its peak at 78%. Keep your umbrella nearby if you are planning to catch the actions live because there is an above 70% chance of rain in the first round.
Per Accuweather, thunderstorms might start late on Friday. Saturday and Sunday will be cloudy, with sporadic storms throughout the day. This wind speed, though, will be steady at 8 MPH from the south during the first two rounds and from the southwest on Sunday. Scattered thunderstorms awaited LIV Golfers last year as well. The nascent league has experienced weather delays a few times in its short three-year existence.

A year ago, the final round of LIV Golf Singapore was paused because of incessant rain. In fact, the first round was halted for two and a half hours as well. A similar fate awaited when LIV moved to Tulsa the next week. The final round was once again battered by rain. Play was suspended around 2.30 PM CDT and resumed after more than an hour. Last August, LIV Golf Greenbrier was pushed late because of inclement weather.
Interestingly, the Greg Norman-fronted league experiences its first weather delay in Asia. That was in Singapore’s neighboring country, Thailand. In the sixth of its seven-tournament Invitational series, LIV Golf was impacted by rain. The final round of LIV Golf Bangkok was stopped midway around 12.58 PM local time. It didn’t start again until after a two-hour break because of lightning in the area. LIV Golf Singapore kick starts at 9.15 AM local time (9.15 PM ET) on Friday.
