Fans make LIV Golf Adelaide what it is. Greg Norman has no doubt about it. Neither does Cameron Smith, the hometown hero. Australian fans are somewhat different, the former Open Champion said. Last year, Chase Koepka’s ace provided a glimpse of what Australian fans are like. Norman doubled down on the fan experience this year. But will Mother Nature pour cold water on Shark’s plans?
Notably, Adelaide reported a light drizzle on Thursday, and the sky is still cloudy. What does the weekend forecast spell for LIV Golf’s greatest extravaganza?

Thursday’s drizzle didn’t last long, but clouds hung above the Grange in Australia. Weather reports predict overcast conditions to stay on Friday, with temperatures reaching 63°F maximum and dropping to 46°F at night. Talor Gooch, Cameron Smith, and others won’t have to worry about wind speed, as it will stay within a modest 8 mph.

Saturday’s forecast remains the same, with only 5% chances of rain. The wind speed is expected to drop to 6 mph, which is almost negligible. More so when you compare the 18 mph wind that Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm, and Bryson DeChambeau battled at Augusta two weeks ago.

However, a cloudy sky will give way to a bright Sunday at the Grange. The temperature is expected to rise above 70°F. The wind speed, however, will increase to 12 MPH. Regardless, nothing will spoil Norman’s grand plans for LIV Golf Adelaide. Latching onto last year’s success, the former Open champion has elevated the experience this year.
Fans are in for a treat at LIV Golf Adelaide
LIV Golf Adelaide last year offered a glimpse of what the rebel league aspires to be. It was a blueprint for success for the Great White Shark. The TPC Scottsdale-like grandstand surrounding the 12th was the scene of revelry like the WM Phoenix Open. Watering Hole, as it has been famously known, was the venue for beer showers. No wonder Ripper GC teammates advised Lucas Herbert to carry an umbrella.

To bring the stars a little closer, organizers have introduced a flight deck, an elevated driving range where fans can meet their favorite stars. Players from a few teams will be warming up at the range. Add to that an interactive fan village, pop-up food chains, and, of course, the famous watering hole, and it seems to be a recipe for success.
The only outlier is whether this will impact the course or not. Last year, the wild celebration on the 12th hole caused some damage to the grass. And what this year’s WMPO showed is that it takes only a few minutes for the recipe for success to turn into a cocktail for disaster!
