The race to become the season-long PGA Tour champion continues at the 2024 FedEx Cup Playoffs. The PGA Tour’s annual series of playoffs is a series of three stroke-play tournaments and will award the FedEx Cup and a hefty amount of money on September 1st. The first tournament of this series is the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship, with a very lucrative purse at stake.
After the conclusion of the second round at the TPC South Southwind, Denny McCarthy is leading the charge, while pros like Scottie Scheffler, Justin Rose, Nick Dunlap, and more are not far behind. Scheffler is just two strokes off the lead, while Rose is three strokes behind. This sets the stage for some potentially exciting changes in the leaderboard as we head into the final two rounds. And after the intense competition, the rewards are absolutely worth it.

The winner of the FedEx St. Jude Championship will earn the FedEx Cup 2,000 points, and the runner-up will earn 1,200 points, while the third place is worth 760 points. It’s worth noting that only the top 50 players will be able to move forward to the BMW Championship, the penultimate event of the playoffs. That said, are there any changes in the winner’s payout for the rest of the tournament in this series?
What’s next after the FedEx St. Jude Championship?
The BMW Championship will commence from August 22 to 25 at Castle Pines GC, Castel Rock. The top 50 after the Jude Championship will engage in another intense competition for $20 million with a $3.6 million winner’s share. However, that’s not the end of this huge prize money-awarding series. After the competition at the Castle Pines GC, the top 30 golfers will move on to the finale of this FedEx Cup Playoffs series, the Tour Championship at the East Lake GC, Atlanta.
