The hype for the finale of the 2023 FedEx Cup reached an all-time high as the TOUR Championship saw a nail-biting finish at Atlanta. Although the golfers put in an amazing showcase, only one person was able to lift the trophy at the end. This person was none other than Viktor Hovland, who took home a whopping $18 million as the event ended on Sunday.

As the fourth and final day came to a close on the East Lake Golf Course, the community saw a stunning display of golf to watch the Norwegian golfer clinch the trophy. The 25-year-old pushed past the rest of the field to mark his name in the annals of history.

In a spectacular showcase, the Norwegian professional managed to take home the biggest cut of the eye-watering $75 million bonus pool. As the fourth day came to a close on Sunday, the golfer saw himself take the lead propelling himself to the top spot of golfers brushing past Xander Schauffele who contested him for the No.1 spot in the final round.

The PGA Tour pro had managed to emerge victorious at the 2023 BMW Championship before coming in strong in the finale of the FedEx Cup. Moreover, he had registered the win by setting a career record along with a course record, making it an extremely special win.

One can’t help but look at the golfer in awe as he lifts his second back-to-back title in the PGA Tour post-season playoffs. The pro will be looking to carry forward the momentum that he managed to garner through consecutive wins in the Ryder Cup as he represents the European team at the prestigious event.

A second win for Hovland

The Norwegian pro marked his second win in the playoffs and his third in the 2023 season with the FedEx Cup finale victory. Viktor scored an insane 63 (-7) on Sunday registering a total of 27-under par 261. His second win came in the penultimate playoff as he bagged $3.6 million out of the total $20 million in the BMW Championship. The golfer was able to claim the top spot in the leaderboard during the second half of his final round as he birdied seven holes out of the last nine to register a 61 on the course.

The score recorded by the golf pro came out to be the lowest ever in his career along with the lowest score ever carded at Olympia Fields Golf Course. The previous record was held by Max Homa and Sam Burns at 62 (-8) while the Norwegian went ahead to break the record by a stroke. Viktor went ahead to win the tournament finishing with a score of 17 overall under 261, five strokes ahead of Xander Schauffele.
