Cameron Smith was recently awarded the PGA of America Player of the Year for an outstanding 2021-22 season. While he missed the top prize, the men’s PGA Player of the Year award, to Scottie Scheffler, Smith has widely been appreciated for his performances. His achievements have since spoken, with fans declaring him as the best golfer on the planet at the expense of poor Scheffler.

How have people reacted to Cameron Smith winning the PGA of America Player of the Year?
Cameron Smith was declared the winner by PGA America barely a week after Scheffler was handed the Jack Nicklaus trophy. The World No.2 won the award courtesy of his performances in the calendar’s biggest events.
However, the honor received little to no publicity from major media houses, which left even LIV Golf scratching their heads. However, a social media storm brewed over the decision and has left Smith with multitudinous fans across the world.

Some are now even contemplating the Aussie as the best golfer in the world, and have made no intention of keeping it a secret.

A few leading journalists have also come forward in deciding their pick between Scheffler and Smith. CBS Sports golf writer, Kyle Porter, recently shared a tweet of a mysterious golfer with his footwear apparel, on which fans scorched replies of Smith as the best golfer on the planet. Here’s a selection of those tweets:
Didn’t realize Cam Smith wore Nike, good to know.

Additionally, some were pleasantly surprised with the footwear choices. The unknown sported a pair of special-edition Tiger Woods shoes, along with white Jordan socks. While Porter contemplated it to be referring to golfer Jordan Spieth, we think it belonged to the line of basketball apparel and clothing produced by Nike, the Air Jordan.
Clearly, some fans were amazed yet excited to see the real golfer who was sporting these products. A few were even surprised to take a guess on Smith’s association with Nike, considering he is now a LIV Golfer and Tiger Woods, the face of Nike, is a staunch critic of the rebel league.
