The wait is over for the die-hard golf fans as the next major is around the corner. The 2024 edition of the US Open is scheduled to take place between 13th June and 16th June at Pinehurst No.2, North Carolina and this is the fourth time venue has been chosen for the major. The excitement is off the roof as the schedule for the first round has been announced.
Although the purse for the championship has not been announced yet, last year it was a whopping $20 million with the winner’s share of $4 million. The reigning champion Wyndham Clarke won the triumphant prize with a score of 10 under 270. Let’s explore the pairs and their tee timings this year.
Road to the glory of the first round

The size of the field sees the opening two rounds operate a two-tee start with players who started from the 1st on day one going from the 10th on day two and vice-versa. On the 1st tee, the pairing of Michael McGowan, Carter Jenkins, and Logan McAllister will start the Thursday round. On the other hand, the initial charge on the 10th tee will be taken by Rico Hoey, Tom KcKibbin, and Matteo Manassero. The rest will follow on these at their respective tees according to the schedule:

Dominant forces in the US Open 2024
Masters champion and fan favorite Scottie Scheffler, PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele, and four-time Major champion Rory McIlroy will begin at 1.14 pm from the 1st tee as the world number one, two, and three have been paired together for the first round.
Scottie Scheffler is having a pretty dominant 2024 season and it is to be seen if he can add one more major to his record. Until now, the world number one has been triumphant in 5 PGA tournaments this year, and in only one tournament, The American Express, he was not able to make it to the top 10. He finished at T17. However, he won the Memorial Tournament recently and his confidence must be pretty high.

Schauffele and McIlroy have one PGA Tour win this year with Schauffele winning the major PGA Championship and McIlroy has been victorious in the Wells Fargo Championship.
