Is the prize money at the 2024 Simmons Bank Open enough to attract top-tier talent?

The Simmons Bank Open is about to conclude on the greens of Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course in Franklin, Tennessee. The Korn Ferry tournament took off two days ago on September 12, and the fans have witnessed some of the amazing golfers showing off their exceptional skills ever since.

After the second round, Ryan Gerard and Matt Atkins are in first place with a score of -16. With two more rounds remaining, it is hard to say who will take home the trophy but it is surely exciting to know what prize money the winner will get in this year’s tournament.

The winner’s payout at the 2024 Simmons Bank Open

The 2024 Simmons Bank Open offers a $1.5 million purse, and the winner receives a whopping $270,000. The prize is calculated by using the standard 18% payout system according to the Korn Ferry Tour’s prize money distribution. The event has a strong field of athletes, which is led by popular golfers like Tim Widing, Max McGreevy, and Matt McCarty.

To add to the prize money, the winner will earn extremely sought-after points, 600 Korn Ferry Tour which will help the golfers on the Road to French Lick where the top 30 players at the end of the 2024 season earn a PGA Tour card for the following season. Another 13.8 Official World Golf Ranking points will also be awarded to the player. Moreover, the winner will also be eligible to get a priority entry into the fall events. The tournament is the 23rd event on the Korn Ferry Tour schedule.

Simmons Bank Open was named tournament of the year in 2022

The Korn Ferry Tour showed their respect and love for the Simmons Bank Open for the Snedeker Foundation in 2022 when they named it the Tournament of the Year. This was an amazing achievement for an event that has made a noticeable impact in just two years. The hard work and dedication of Tour official Mike Hammontree, the Tennessee Golf Foundation, Simmons Bank, the Snedeker Foundation, and of course the work of golf lovers.

“We are thrilled to name the Simmons Bank Open for the Snedeker Foundation our 2022 Tournament of the Year… There is no better time for us to recognize the outstanding work of Mike Hammontree and the team at the Tennessee Golf Foundation, Simmons Bank, and the Snedeker Foundation over the last two years as their event joins the reimagined Korn Ferry Tour Finals in 2023,”  said Korn Ferry Tour President Alex Baldwin as he announced the feat.
