For the fifth signature event of the 2024 season, the PGA Tour has been playing at the Harbour Town Golf Links for the past three days. At the final round scheduled on April 21st, one winner will be announced, taking home the highest payout for the victory since the event started in 1969.
Just like any other signature event, the RBC Heritage also offers $20 million for the field of 69 at Hilton Head Island. Matching the winner’s payout from last week’s Masters, the winner of RBC Heritage will also get a $3.6 million payout and 700 FedExCup points. Moreover, there will also be a plaid jacket awaiting whoever triumphs in the event.
Adding to the excitement, the event does not have a cut, so while the winner will get a big chunk of the prize money, the entire field of 69 players will also get a share of the same. Henceforth, even the last golfer on the leaderboard will amass a $41,000 check, whereas the runner-up will get $2.1 million. This is still significantly more than what the winner of the Corales Puntacana Championship is being held during the same weekend, which amounts to $720,000.

Scottie Scheffler to match a 48-year-old historical record at RBC Heritage

It has been 48 years since any player on the PGA Tour won the Masters and then went on to win at the Harbour Town Golf Links. The last was done by Bernhard Langer in 1985, as he won the then-Sea Pine Heritage. The very first time any player triumphed on the PGA Tour following his Masters win was Gary Player in 1978, as he won his first Masters and then the Tournament of Champions next week.
Scottie Scheffler has now taken the three-round solo lead at the RBC Heritage after scoring a bogey-free 8 under 63. For three rounds, it became impossible for anyone in the field to stop him from taking the lead. Despite the field having seven more top-ranked golfers, like Rory McIlroy, Ludvig Aberg, Xander Schauffele, and more.
Ridiculous.

Will Scheffler take another victory and engrave his name beside the two legendary golfers? It is more than probable and Scheffler will not take any chances to miss the golden opportunity.
