The moving day of the Charles Schwab Challenge has arrived! And the field has been cut short after the 2-over cutline. After the conclusion of the Friday round, David Riley took his first-ever 36-hole lead on the PGA Tour. Riley shot six birdies with zero bogeys to be 6 under 64 and 10 under overall.
Following the 27-year-old are Hayden Buckley and Pierceson Coody, the two golfers shot rounds of 6 under 65 and are two strokes behind the leader. Riley and Buckley are scheduled to start their Saturday round of Charles Schwab Challenge at 1:55 p.m. whereas Coody will start at 1:45 p.m.
The field’s highlight and the World 1 golfer, Scottie Scheffler, had a dismal opening round with a score of 2 over 72. Many fans cited his arrest as the reason behind his shaky start on the Michigan greens. The 10-time PGA Tour winner seemed to have gained momentum in the second round. The 27-year-old shot a bogey-free round with two birdies on the front nine and two at the back to be 5 under 65 and tied for 15. Scheffler will be starting his third round at 12:35 p.m. with Tom Kim.

And after 5 p.m. EST, there will be a chance of a similar Stray T-storm, which may delay the play. The PGA Tour might observe another 70 minutes or more to avoid the dangerous weather conditions at the Charles Schwab Challenge. Regardless, the players and fans on the ground would be prepared to tackle another delay.
If you are planning a trip to Colonial CC, do not forget to bring an umbrella, in case it rains too!
