The 2024 Butterfield Bermuda Championship is blocked with hurdles. Mother Nature once again struck to disrupt the gameplay. To begin with, darkness fell on Thursday evening in Bermuda. Several players were still on the course, finishing their first rounds. Sadly, they were unable to complete it. However, they returned early Friday morning to complete Round 1, while the starting times for Round 2 remained unaffected.

One of the early leaders, Haydn Springer, teed off early Friday morning at Port Royal, with his fellow co-leaders Kevin Dougherty and Justin Lower starting later on Friday. A few hours later, even the second round was disrupted due to the same reason, while some of the players are yet to tee off, and will be finishing their rounds ahead of the Saturday round. Currently, Justin Lower is at a two-stroke lead ahead of Robby Shelton and Ryan Moore.

What is at stake for the winner at the 2024 Butterfield Bermuda Championship?

The 2024 Buttercup Bermuda Championship boasts prize money of a whopping $6.9 million. Apart from taking home the highest bid from the purse, the winner will also receive 500 FedEx Cup Points. And not to forget, the top 125 players in the FedEx Cup standings after the fall events will earn full status for the next season, while those finishing 126-150 will receive partial status.

But the question is, will the weekend hold the same disruption for the tournament as it did on Thursday and Friday?

Bermuda to expect clear weather this weekend

Saturday has warnings of coastal flood watch from 6:00 am to 10:00 am. However, apart from that, the reports say, Pleasant with plenty of sun”. According to the AccuWeather Reports, there will be no chance of thunderstorms and only a 2% chance of rain. Additionally, the most stressful part in Bermuda these days will steer clear on Saturday. There will be 0% cloud cover, which makes 100% visibility for the players.

On Sunday, the weather is reported to be “nice with plenty of sun.” Although, unlike Saturday, the cloud cover will be 6%, which should not cause much of a problem, the rain will not at all be bother sport, as there will once again be no thunderstorms, and the speed of the wind gusts blowing in too will be as low as 13 km/h. So, in all probability, the weather worries will no longer overshadow the gameplay in Bermuda. Who do you think will clinch the trophy on Sunday? Let us know in the comments section below!
