The LET Saudi Ladies International burst onto the scene in 2020 in Riyadh, and boy, has it been the ultimate vibe check. For starters, this was the first time when professional female golfers competed in Saudi Arabia. Secondly, in 2023, the prize money increased from $1 million to $5 million, achieving parity with the men’s Saudi International for the first time. Finally, in 2024, the tournament moved to Riyadh Golf Club.

This year, the tournament returns for three days from February 13 – 15 at Riyadh Golf Club. It features a 54-hole individual stroke play format, along with a 36-hole team competition during the first two days. The 112-player field includes 62 LET players, 42 players from the top 300 in the Women’s World Golf Rankings, and 8 tournament invitations. Sounds pretty exciting, right?

The tournament will feature elite competitors, including world number 3 ranked Ruoning Yin and defending champion Patty Tavatanakit, with the prize purse set at $5 million. Out of that, $0.5 million goes to a team event for the first two day. Pretty sweet, right? Then, they’ll cut to the top 60 players battling for the last $4.5 million. The 60th spot bags $13,500, while the 28th team grabs $3,750. The champs? $475,000 for the individual winner and $140,000 for the top team.

PIF has been birdying for some time now, and with the Saudi International League since 2022. It will invest $5 billion in LIV Golf by the end of this year. Hence, PIF is an interesting place to keep our eyes on because it has officially set its eyes on LET Saudi Ladies International as well.

The $5 million prize pool is the biggest payday in women’s golf, outside the majors and a few LPGA events. Although it is identical to the last two editions, this news reflects PIF’s “commitment to driving inclusivity and opportunity within golf for all ages, genders, and demographics.
