LIV Golf goes to Australia on February 13m 2025, for the second event of the season. The Saudi-based league kicked off 2025 with an amazing event in the Middle East. LIV Golf Riyadh was a major hit with many of the best golfers in the circuit competing for the top spot. In the end, it was Adrian Meronk who dominated the field and won his first LIV Golf individual title. He had to overcome the constant threat from Jon Rahm, Daniel Berger, and Bryson DeChambeau to claim the win.

But now, the Pros will travel to Australia to compete for the $20 million purse and $5 million individual prize money. LIV Golf Adelaide will be played from February 14-16, 2025, following the 54-hole strokeplay with a no-cut format. It will feature nearly every LIV Golf star except those who have withdrawn due to injuries. The roster will include the defending champion, Brendan Steele, and 2023 winner, Talor Gooch. Who will be their toughest opposition at the Grange Golf Club? Let’s find out!

Jon Rahm

There is no question about Jon Rahm’s status in LIV Golf. He is definitely the best player in the PIF-backed promotion. Rahm proved that by capturing the individual title for the season in 2024. The Spaniard continued his great run of form in LIV Golf Riyadh, making sure Adrian Meronk sweats till the very last hole. Moreover, Rahm’s passion for winning every tournament showed in his acts of aggression at Riyadh Golf Club in the season opener.

Jon Rahm finished 3rd at LIV Golf Adelaide in 2024. He will definitely want to better that and also go on to win the event this year. After the disappointing loss in Riyadh, he will be more than eager to give it his all in Australia.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Jon Rahm finally conquer Adelaide, or will another star steal the spotlight this year?

Have an interesting take?

Bryson DeChambeau

The last time Bryson DeChambeau won a LIV Golf tournament was back on September 24, 2023. His victory at Rich Harvest Farms also helped his team win the LIV Golf Chicago event at the same time. Ever since then, the only time DeChambeau has won a tournament was his U.S. Open win in 2024. The mad scientist would like to turn that around and get back to winning ways in LIV Golf.

Interestingly, the Grange Golf Club has never been a favorable venue for DeChambeau. In 2023 and 2024, he has finished at 28 and T26, respectively. So this is another challenge that the Crushers’ GC captain would want to overcome. But we all know that Bryson DeChambeau loves challenges. There is no question that he would be a man to compete with at LIV Golf Adelaide 2025.

Tyrrell Hatton

Tyrrell Hatton has been a man on a mission since the beginning of the year. The Englishman only has 1 goal in his mind, Ryder Cup qualification. Hatton kicked off 2025 gaining vital Ryder Cup points at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. The 33-year-old dominated the field to overcome the threat from Rory McIlroy and others to win the event. His next few goals would be the majors. Unfortunately, there is one major that Hatton has still not qualified for and that’s the 2025 U.S. Open.

The USGA recently announced an exemption for top LIV Golf players to qualify for the US Open. That means it’s vital for rising stars like Tyrrell Hatton to perform in every LIV Golf event to claim that spot. Knowing the competitive nature of the Englishman, there is no question that he will be eager to win the LIV Golf Adelaide event. And when Hatton really wants to win, there are very few who could stop him from reaching his goal.

Joaquin Niemann

Just like Tyrrell Hatton, Joaquin Niemann has also qualified for every major this year except for the 2025 US Open. The Chilean has been performing really well for the past year. He managed to end the 2024 LIV Golf season as the second-best player in the league behind Jon Rahm. Niemann only had 2 finishes outside of the top 15 last year. He also captured the 2024 PIF Saudi International title in the last quarter of 2024.

The Chile national will be keen to continue his form from last season and dominate LIV Golf again. Perhaps, he might also overtake Rahm this year and win the individual title in 2025. At the same time, Niemann would also like to qualify for the US Open. This makes Joaquin Niemann a threat at every event, including the upcoming LIV Golf Adelaide 2025.

Sergio Garcia

Sergio Garcia was one of the players who was popping off at LIV Golf Riyadh. His incredible performance helped him finish the event at T6, 4 strokes shy of Adrian Meronk. Alternatively, Garcia is only exempt from the PGA Championship and Masters Tournament in 2025. The Spaniard was the third-best player in the LIV Golf 2024 season. He will be looking to improve on that record and finish at pole position in 2025.

Garcia failed to impress at LIV Golf Adelaide 2024, finishing at T40 in the tournament. Aiming to improve his performance in the tournament, win the individual title in 2025, and qualify for the US Open and Open Championship this year, Sergio Garcia will be ultra-focused on outperforming his opponents at every opportunity he gets. And his next goal will definitely be LIV Golf Adelaide 2025.

These are some of the strongest players going into the tournament. And there is no question that they are also favorites to win the 2025 LIV Golf Adelaide tournament. Other than them, the likes of Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, and Cameron Smith will also prove to be a threat for both Brendan Steele and Talor Gooch.
