The much-awaited event is finally here. After almost two long years of wait, the golf fans will finally be getting what they have been looking forward to! The top competitors on both the rival leagues, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy from the PGA Tour, and Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau from LIV Golf will come together to put up a show for the fans at the Shadow Creek Golf Course on December 17. Making it all the more prestigious will be the hosts and volunteers of the event. Here’s all you need to know about the entire group.
The TNT announcing team will handle coverage for The Showdown 2024, with play-by-play commentator Ernie Johnson leading the broadcast. His NBA on TNT partner, Charles Barkley, will also join the team. Much like the event itself, which features a mix of PGA Tour and LIV golfers, the announcing crew will reflect both circuits, bringing together voices from each side. The broadcasting team features Trevor Immelman and David Feherty. Immelman is a prominent TV analyst for PGA Tour coverage, while Feherty serves as one of the lead announcers for LIV Golf.
Well, that is not all. To add up to the excitement of the fans, 2X Masters Champion, now turned LIV Golfer Bubba Watson too will be present at the Shadow Creek Golf Course, serving as the on-course correspondent. This is the second time he will be doing the same for TNT. Earlier he was the correspondent for The Match that was hosted earlier in November. Finally, Lauren Jbara will be featured as the course reporter for the celebrity show.

The made-for-television event is set to take place in Las Vegas and is a one-off competition between the players representing both leagues. It will be played over eighteen holes and will have a score format of match-play instead of strokeplay. This means the winner of every hole will be taking the point for that particular one. The team that has the highest number of points will take home the trophy. You can watch the entire streaming on MAX.
Additionally, the entire coverage will begin at 6:00 pm ET, and will only be primarily broadcast on TNT, just like it happens every year with the Match. However, the official tee time for the event is yet to be announced. Stay tuned to find out updates about the same. Who are you rooting for? Let us know in the comments section below!
