‘Try and Help Each Other’: Tiger Woods Once Spoke Heartwarming Words For Ex Wife Elin Nordegren

The five-time green jacket winner, Tiger Woods, has been a loyal member of the PGA Tour. He has had difficulties in his personal and professional life, but he pulled through and today people admire him. He had been in the news for his split up with his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, in 2010. But currently, they are on pretty good terms with each other… going as far as calling each other ‘best friends.’!

Elin and Woods met in 2001 and exchanged their vows in 2004. But sadly, because of Woods’ alleged scandal, the matrimony ended in 2010 with high-profile media coverage. The separation was hard, but now they are friends. Tiger reveals in an interview.

Tiger Woods got separated from his wife around a decade back. The divorce was hard for Elin.  She had two kids and was a full-time psychology student. After the divorce, her only focus was on her kids. She was fighting the hardship, and the kids were adjusting to the changing environment.

Elin received $100 million as alimony, and, according to public records, she bought a property worth $12.25 million with the settlement money. Even after all this hardship and her husband’s scandal, Elin and Woods stayed cordial for the sake of their kids. They decided to co-parent them and ensure a stable and happy future for them.

Woods and Elin, best friends?

During an interview with TIMES magazine in 2015, Woods told them that things were hard, but he was best friends with Elin. Their relationship had improved during all these years. They were always connected because of their kids, hence their bond as friends flourished. He told TIMES; “She talks to me about her life, I talk to her about my life. We try and help each other out on all occasions. And we work through it with the kids, the parenting program.”

He said that they have become best friends and share their life experiences like friends do. They are also involved in a parenting program for their kids, and they contribute the given time to it to make sure that their kids live a normal life. According to Woods, Elin is one of his best friends and he is happy about it.

Today Woods is a golf legend and is happy about his career. He opened up a restaurant, ‘The Woods’ in Jupiter, Florida, so that he can spend more time with his kids as the location was closer.
