The 2023 Travelers Championship concluded with Keegan Bradley crowned as the winner. After a brilliant, personal best of 23 under par, the star took home a whopping 3.6 million dollars from the purse of $20 million. Although the journey toward this victory was not an easy one, the star was able to hold his nerves.
Consequently, the PGA Tour win allowed Bradley to gather numerous perks including considerable Ryder Cup points. However, that was not where the good fortune ended for the golfer. His massive victory in New England soon got overshadowed by yet another exciting news for the golf star. This time it was Tiger Woods‘ brainchild TGL which implied a great future for golf and golfers in Boston and New England region.

The genesis of TMWR-TGL was to counter the impact of the LIV Golf series that features team golf events. However, the growing demands for past-faced gameplay, especially with regard to the younger generation, encouraged Tiger Woods to add a new touch to traditional golf. It meant that on some level, the game will encourage virtual reality concerning certain parts of the sport.
This tech-based venture of Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and others consists of six teams. Out of which, now the second team has been purchased by an influential sports group that will represent New England and Boston. It is none other than the Fenway Sports Group, owned and maintained by John Henry and Tom Werner. Interestingly, it is the same group that owns numerous other sports franchises as well. The impressive names include the Boston Red Sox (Major League Baseball), the Liverpool Football Club, the Pittsburgh Penguins (National Hockey League), and more.

Initially this month, the first team was purchased by the greatest Tennis icon, Serena Williams. Along with her, Alexis Ohanian and Venus Williams also stepped in to co-own a Los Angeles team. This league is all set to kick off prime time at the beginning of 2024. Before that, the coming weeks might officially confirm the name of the TGL teams and the roster of players.
A likely possibility is the addition of Keegan Bradley to this FSG-owned team that might represent Boston and New England. Furthermore, the six-time PGA Tour winner is an ardent Boston Red Sox enthusiast.
Keegan Bradley and his relationship with FSG-purchased Boston Red Sox
As a sportsperson, one is possibly inclined to other games as well. Thus, Keegan Bradley’s enthusiasm for baseball is no surprise. Even more natural is the golfer’s support for the Boston Red Sox. The reason can be that the professional was raised in a similar region of New England.
In fact, the proof of his passion for the team is clear in a video uploaded by the USGA. The golfer can be seen in a classical Red Sox baseball shirt pitching the ball at the team’s game. Later on, Bradley was caught on the camera enjoying moments post-game with his small family.
