In the 2024 season, weather has turned out to be the biggest nemesis of the PGA Tour and its successful progression of events. At first, the Pebble Beach AT&T Pro-Am was cut down to a 54-hole event, and then the Cognizant Classic was pushed to a Monday finish due to inclement weather. And even at the Travelers Championship, weather woes have not left the tour alone.

The last signature event of the 2024 season had a great start without any such disruption. However, the round was halted on the second day due to lighting, and after 3 hours, as the weather draws to a caution in TPC River Highland, will the third round be suspended altogether?

As per the National Weather Service forecast, unfortunately, it will surely rain on the moving day of the Travelers Championship. The round would start with dark clouds hovering over TPC River Highland with a 20% chance of rain. As it will draw closer to 11 a.m., the chance of rain would be lower at 15%, but with a 10% chance of lighting, which could cause a delay in the competition.

However, the real problem will start around noon. There will be a 20% chance of pop-up showers or thunderstorms, which will grow to 50% with time. Furthermore, the wind will also blow at 8–12 mph after 2 p.m. The weather will probably cause more havoc for the golfers at the top of the leaderboard.

Golfers like Tom Kim, Scottie Scheffler, and others might get a delayed start or may have disruptions in between as their tee times are scheduled for the afternoon. It can be assumed that the PGA Tour might suspend the third round if the conditions worsen and may opt to resume it after a few hours as a 60% chance of rain is predicted during the evening.

This might further create a ruckus, as a delay in the final round may push for a Monday finish, which many fans and players alike may not be up for. But if you are a viewer and, luckily, not at TPC River Highland, here is how you can watch the third round from the comfort of your home.

TV schedule for the Travelers Championship’s third round
