The Ryder Cup has ended with the Europeans coming out victorious. The score was 16½ to 11½. Through and through, it was a thrilling ride; from the first session to the last singles match, there was drama, fierce gameplay, and intense rivalry. Even after its conclusion, the public has not left the controversies alone.

Arguably the biggest controversy was the heated exchange between Rory McIlroy and Joe LaCava. And while many have opened up about their takes on it these past few days, now a member of the Dustin Johnson-led 4Aces’ spouse has also joined in. Claiming that she would love to see the 4-time major winner get punched, the lady has ignited a controversy of her own in the golf world!

On the second day of the Ryder Cup, Patrick Cantlay made a birdie on the 18th hole and celebrated by pretending to tip his ‘hat’ as he gave the Americans a fighting chance! The eventful putt also had his caddie, Joe LaCava, and other members join in on the celebrations.

The chaotic celebration caused a disturbance, and Rory McIlroy lost his putt. It was later found that McIlroy had asked Cantlay’s caddie to move, and he did not for a moment. Following the incident in the parking lot, the Irishman was seen in a heated argument with someone from the other side. He was then pushed inside the car by his fellow mate Shane Lowry and caddie Jim Mackey.

The viral incident has been making the rounds for days now, and yet another from the golf world has chimed in—Ashley Perez. The wife of Pat Perez, who plays with Dustin Johnson on the 4Aces, commented on the parking lot altercation video and said she wanted to see Rory get punched. I can’t possibly be the only one that would absolutely love to watch Rory get punched in the face. “I mean that in the nicest way possible… kinda,” she wrote.

As the comment began making the rounds on the internet, it was then shared by the likes of NUCLR and other prominent golf pages on Twitter (now X). And as Mrs. Perez went viral for it, the golf world found “the nicest way possible” to lash back at her for it!

Ashley Perez’s comment didn’t sit well with a lot of fans, and flooding the Twitter posts that reported on her statement, they made their thoughts known with taunts and jabs of their own.

One fan commented on the fillers in Ashley’s face and stated that if it was McIlroy who had them and then got puched, he would not feel a thing.

Another called her and her husband both irrelevant and garbage and stated that no one paid attention to them.

One fan said that sometimes it is better to mind your own business!

Another made a snarky comment about the LIV wife’s face being unusual.

Another golf enthusiast called out her husband, a.k.a. Pat Perez, and commented on his awful performance at LIV Golf.

One made fun of her face and said that a punch would not budge her by sharing a hilarious video.

This one fan called her out for being unpopular and said that she should just sit down.

One found it amusing that even after her husband’s doomed gameplay, LIV Golf signed him to play.

Another person commented that it was a little violent, but kind of in good faith.

This is not the first time that Ashley has received criticism from the audience. Her controversial comments have always found her in hot water, whether it was when she commented on Tiger Woods’ 2021 accident or when she called the Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele wine trip not fun.
