It is necessary to mark one’s ball during a golf tournament to distinguish it from others. There is no certain rule on how to mark the balls. Hence, the players use various ways to make them different from one another. Let’s find out how two popular golfers in America, Collin Morikawa, and Rickie Fowler mark theirs.

“Hi, I’m Collin Morikawa. This is how I mark my TP5 TaylorMade ball,” the 25-year-old first demonstrated how he marks his golf balls. He and other TaylorMade sponsoring golfers explained the same in a one-minute video by GOLF TV.

Unlike Morikawa, Rickie Fowler has a different strategy to make his ball different from others. In fact, he didn’t have to try much to make it distinguish from others, as it was already a little different. “Just a line, using clear pact technology. Not a bunch of guys play pix ball out here,” he said.

He uses a No. 15 TP5 pix ball to play golf. Notably, 15 was Fowler’s riding number when he used to be a motorbike rider. He used to be a dirt bike rider and has even had an event for a Yamaha team. However, Fowler had to drop that dream after meeting with a serious accident.

The two-time major champion Morikawa uses a TP5 golf ball. According to TaylorMade’s official website, the aerodynamic dimple pattern on the ball makes it carry more distance.

TaylorMade’s 5-layer ball construction, including a larger and more reactive Tri-Fast Core and a Dual-Spin Cover, helps the ball to be more efficient from tee to green. Furthermore, the ball also controls the wind and produces more spin on the greens.

On the other hand, the 5-time PGA Tour champion Fowler uses a TP5 pix ball. The strategically placed graphics frame the TaylorMade logo which helps create the visible line once the ball is rolling.

Furthermore, the technology helps in gauging the quality of the putting. Notably, TaylorMade this ball by working closely and taking feedback from Fowler. Like TP5, it also is manufactured to get a complete tee to green performance.
