The 2024 FedEx Cup Playoffs will come to an end in a few hours. Scottie Scheffler entered the East Lake with a lead on the standings, despite Keegan Bradley winning the BMW Championship last week. This earned the World No. 1 an advantage of 10-under as he entered the field. Well, it did turn out in his favor because the 28 YO has been in the lead for the first three rounds.
Currently, he is at a five-stroke lead ahead of Collin Morikawa. Xander Schauffele was almost 1500 points ahead of the final leg of the playoffs. He entered the field with an advantage of 8-under. After the Saturday round though, he dropped down to a solo fourth, 10 strokes behind Scheffler. The odds are pretty much clear – the former gets to take home the trophy this year if the momentum remains the same.
How much will Scottie Scheffler take home if he wins?
The Tour Championship has a purse of a whopping $100 million. Last year, it was Viktor Hovland who bagged a prize money of $18 million. This year, there’s an increase of $7 million in the winner’s share. If Scottie Scheffler wins on Sunday, he will be taking home $25 million in bonus money. The runner-up and the second runner-up will be getting $12.5 million, and $7.5 million.
The last player in the field will be getting $550,000. Here’s what the entire prize money payout looks like for the 2024 Tour Championship:
