East Lake has been a smooth course for some of the golfers, whereas, for some, it has been quite troublesome. World no. 1’s longing efforts continued till Saturday, but this time he had a maiden major champion by his side in the spirit of sportsmanship.

For the first three days of the $75 million race, Scheffler displayed signs of struggle with his putting. During the championship’s opening round, Scheffler made two bogeys and a double over a five-hole stretch in a one-over 71. The golfer finished 30th on the board. The lead that he entered with was gone. Friday was a bit better for the golfer as she shot 65 and was fifth in SG: Putting, but his third round on Saturday was a mess.

After struggling a lot with his putter on par-5 6th, par-4 7th, and par-4 8th, he made his way to the 9th hole. Scheffler was playing with Keegan Bradley on the 9th. The 2022 Masters champion rolled in a 3-footer for par, and Bradley realized that Scheffler was going through something.

Bradley was eager to play the hole with the 27-year-old as he likes playing with the young golfers and also enjoys watching them play. In the true spirit of sportsmanship, Bradley extended his right fist out and walked about 10 feet toward Scheffler. Just at that moment, the duo fist-bumped and happily walked off the green together.
