Jin Young Ko’s attempt at winning the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship during the past weekend may not have achieved its goal. But Monday came and brought with itself terrific news which is no less than any huge achievement for Jin Young Ko.

On Monday, Jin Young broke the record for most weeks spend at World No. 1. The LPGA Tour pro has topped the list for a 159th week after the major. Earlier this record was held by Lorena Ochoa who reigned on the no. 1 spot for 158 weeks. And Lorena’s kind wishes for Ko on this achievement is making her popular with the golf community.

Lorena Ochoa’s sweet message for Jin Young Ko

This is a good year for Jin Young. Her latest stint at victory at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship on Sunday wasn’t successful, and she finished at T20 at the Baltusrol Golf Club.

The South Korean golfer was further congratulated by the legend herself whose record she broke. The magnificent Lorena showed great sportsmanship as she sent a heartfelt message to Jin. In a clip shared by the LPGA Tour on Instagram, Lorena is seen sending a very sweet congratulatory note to Jin.

Interestingly Jin Young’s current caddie, Dave Brooker, has caddied for Ochoa for a long-time. Lorena was sweet enough to congratulate him as well.

In the clip, Lorena says, “Hi Jin, This is Lorena, I am here playing golf tournament for my foundation, but I know that today is a very special day. And I wanted to be the first one to say congratulations to you, to Dave to your family, and your team. It’s great, so many weeks as no.1 player in the world. I just wish you the best. Continue in that direction. And really, really congratulations.”  And this generous act of Lorena’s is winning the hearts of the golf community who are full of praise for her.

The golf community was impressed by Lorena and they flocked the comments section praising her:

This fan had a heartfelt message for Ochoa herself “Thank you Miss Ochoa, your example we see, and it’s hope, compassion and love ❤️ that we feel as fans. I pray 🙏🏽 we all can take this time to be nice to people we know and don’t know!!”

This fan congratulated both talented ladies, “Classy lady congratulating 🎊 another classy lady… Lorena you are a class act & always was.”

Jin Young acknowledge this sweet message of Ochoa’s by dropping a comment below –  “Thank you for very Special video. I feel very thankful and heartfull” and also shared the video on her Instagram stories. Lorena, during her time, held the top spot for 158 consecutive weeks from April 2007 to May 2010.
