Are PGA Tour golfers better content creators than their LIV Golf counterparts? Let's hear your thoughts!

It’s always exciting to see your favorite golfer on the greens, but some fans have the added luxury of watching their favorite golfers in a more informal setup. We mean on YouTube. It sure is a bonus for the fans to see golfers be themselves, and see the side that is hard to see inside the ropes. Here are the top five YouTube channels run by golfers:

Bryson DeChambeau

After the PGA Championship this year, Bryson DeChambeau took over the internet as he witnessed a significant rise in his YouTube subscribers and social media followers. It is safe to say that he generated quite a buzz in the community. Indeed, his performances at the 2024 majors, including victory at the US Open played a pivotal role in boosting his popularity, but his YT also plays a role. Notably, the Scientist’s channel is more than a decade old, and he started it even before turning pro.

Yes, you read it right. DeChambeau turned pro in 2016 as per the PGA Tour; meanwhile, his channel was created on November 20, 2012. However, he posted his first video in 2021, and throughout these years, the LIV Golfer has now gained 1.46 million subscribers. The golfer takes on exciting challenges with well-known figures like Donald Trump, Sergio Garcia, and others and shares the experiences online with his fans.

Akshay Bhatia

Just like DeChambeau, Akshay Bhatia also created his channel before turning pro. He joined professional golf in 2019, and his channel dates back to May 10, 2016. However, he has been active on YT from the start of this year only and posted the first video around 8 months ago. During the Sentry this year, the golfer revealed his excitement toward social media.

“It’s our generation now, right? I love social media. I love doing Instagram stuff and showing people my life my lifestyle and all the cool places we get to go to. It’s just so fun because, as a 21-year-old, when kids are looking up to you, it’s a weird feeling, right?” as revealed on the PGA Tour. Bhatia focuses more on tournament vlogs, unboxing, etc. on his channel.

The brother of Gabriela Ruffels, Ryan Ruffels, also joins the list of pro golfers having a YouTube channel. The 26-year-old turned pro back in 2016 and started his channel last year in July. Although the golfer isn’t very active on the PGA Tour with only 20 events played so far, he seems very active on his channel. Ruffles not only interacts with pros like Nelly Korda for interviews and friendly challenges, but he also enjoys sharing tips and tricks for shots, “what’s in the bag” insights, and solo challenges. Overall, Ryan Ruffels has more than 22,000 subscribers and has posted 64 videos so far.

Alexis Miestowski

Miestowski is a pro golfer from the EPSON Tour, and she joined the circuit this year only; however, her channel history dates back to 2013. Surprisingly, the golfer barely posts any long videos on her YouTube, as her main focus is YouTube shorts. The 24-year-old has posted only 2 videos; meanwhile, there are more than 100 YouTube shorts you can watch on her channel.

Through these short videos, she posts content like warm-up routines, simulator golf, random golf shots on the greens, and more. There are clips of some funny moments as well. Alexis Miestowski currently has 3.36K subscribers, and with this number, she has already accumulated 370,891 views.

Just like Miestowski, Marissa Wenzler is also part of the EPSON Tour and joined the circuit in 2024. Interestingly, she too focuses more on YouTube shorts rather than long videos. The golfer has more than 2k subscribers with only 1 long video and 10 shorts. She likes to post videos like vlogs and random golf shots with serene views.

Honorable mention: Paige Spiranac

Although the golf diva Paige Spiranac is now a social media influencer, she started as a pro golfer. She turned pro back in 2015. However, just after a year, she bid farewell to professional greens and now focuses on social media and YouTube. When asked about the reason for leaving, she said, “For me, it was never physical ability. It was always mental,” and further revealed that she never believed in herself and her talents.
