As we have all been seeing for some time now, the Saudi-backed league is bending all its bones to make room in the heart of golf fans. And with the Team Championship around the corner, the fans are over the moon. The event is set to take from September 20 to 22 at Maridoe Golf Club in Dallas. This is the first time that LIV Golf is going to North Texas.

The winner will take home a whopping $14 million from a hefty purse of $50 million. Will Crushers GC successfully defend its title? Golf fans have been wondering which team is leading the chart in the LIV Golf team championship power rankings, and well, we have brought to you exactly that!

1. Legion XII

We have put Jon Rahm’s team on number one for a good reason. Have you seen his gameplay this year? Just amazing! Efforts of other team players like Caleb Surratt, Tyrrell Hatton, and Kieran Vincent are sure to add up to Rahm’s performances. Legion XII was elevated to the 2nd position in the LIV standings with 200 points after Rahm’s LIV Golf Chicago win. Not only that, the golfer himself is ranked as the top player with 235.17 points.

2. Crushers GC

With an impressive 208.5 points, Crusher’s GC is sitting pretty at the top of the LIV Golf standings. Captain Bryson DeChambeau is leading the charge, and we can’t wait to see what he will bring to the table this time after he shot 5-under 67 on Sunday in 2023. DeChambeau himself is the 8th top-ranked golfer in the LIV individual standings with 105.96 points. Anirban Lahiri’s second-half comeback story is just over the top; he recently secured his spot in the locked zone with a T6 finish last week at LIV Golf Chicago. But there’s a slight cause for concern for Charles Howell III, as his return from injury hasn’t been smooth sailing. So, do you think the title will be defended this week in Dallas?

3. Torque GC

Torque GC ended the regular season on a decent note with a T5 finish in Chicago. Not bad, but not quite what they were hoping for—no podium finish for the fourth event in a row. Now, all attention shifts to Dallas, where Joaquín Niemann takes center stage. The team is ranked fifth in the LIV Standings with 129 points after the Chilean superstar came oh-so-close to beating Jon Rahm in Chicago but had to settle for second place.

Niemann is currently ranked as the 2nd best golfer in the individual ranking with 219.20 points, only 15.95 points behind Rahm. Meanwhile, Mito Pereira dodged a bullet by barely escaping the drop zone. Although his recent form has been patchy, with a T47 finish in Chicago, the golfer is still in the running.

4. Ripper GC

Ripper GC got a sweet deal. As per LIV Golf’s official website, the team will receive a bye which means extra rest as compared to teams in the 4-13th spot. Nice perk, right? But honestly, they’re not exactly on fire. After two close second-place finishes, they stumbled into the playoffs with a 12th-place finish in Chicago. There was one bright spot, though, which was that Lucas Herbert played nice and tied for the sixth spot. The team is currently ranked 3rd on the LIV Golf standings with 151 points.

5. Fireball GC

Please don’t come at us for putting Fireball GC on the 5th spot before you read why we did that. Team captain Sergio Garcia is currently the 3rd top-ranked player in the LIV individual standings with 162.49 points, while the team is ranked 6th in the LIV standings with 128.83 points, which automatically makes it better for them. Garcia continued to have an impressive run and finished T2 in Chicago, which was just three strokes behind Jon Rahm. This stellar performance helped him elevate to third in the season-long standings. The Fireballs also benefited from Garcia’s captaincy, securing a third-place finish in Chicago. This was their fourth podium finish in the last 7 events. Other standout performers of the team included Abraham Ancer and David Puig’s top-20 finishes in the final three events.

This is what the current rankings and team standings show. Who do you think will win the Championship? Let us know in the comment section below!
