The 2024 Grant Thornton Invitational is set to feature some of the most exciting action this weekend. Fans are excited to see stars like Nelly Korda, Lydia Ko, Lexi Thompson, Rickie Fowler, Jason Day, and many more at the Tiburon Golf Club. One of the names on that list is Tony Finau, who has been under the spotlight over the past few weeks amid rumors of a LIV Golf switch.
He has a big role to play as the world no. 1 Nelly Korda will be relying on his support to challenge Lydia Ko and Jason Day for the title. So is Tony Finau ready to compete for the 2024 Grant Thornton Invitational title? A look at his clubs might tell us what to expect from the 35-year-old PGA Tour star.

If Team Finau & Korda wants to have a great start, then the former needs to ensure he can reach far accurately. There is no better way to do that than by taking the same world No. 1 in men’s golf.
According to bunkered, Tony Finau is carrying a Ping G430 LST, the same driver that helped Scottie Scheffler capture the 2024 Hero World Challenge last weekend. It is paired with a Mitsubishi Diamana GT 70 TX shaft to ensure. Both, the driver and the shaft are used for low-spin and high-intensity strokes that allow players to accurately target the fairways to get a headstart in the events. The driver can be purchased for $399 while the shaft can be found at around $360, making the club worth around $759.
Off the fairway, if Finau is about 200 yards off the green, he asks his caddie for the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond with a Mitsubishi Diamana D+ Limited 80 TX shaft. The 3-wood is perfect for anyone who has a great swing speed and power as it helps the ball pierce through the air while reducing the speed. This is the club Xander Schauffele sported during his 2024 Open Championship win back in July. The 3-wood is worth $599.99 in online stores while the shaft can be bought for $300.
When searching for a driving iron, Finau grabs the Nike Vapor Fly Pro 3-iron which is worth £298.99. Paired with the $218 Graphite Design Tour AD DI 105 Hybrid X, the driver offers increased stability during flight and is considered one of the most forgiving irons. Apart from Finau, this club is also used by LIV Golf player Brooks Koepka.
If Tony Finau still finds himself around 160 yards from the green then he picks the Ping Blueprint S 4-iron with the Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 Tour 120 TX. The Ping Blueprint S is the same iron that helped Sahith Theegala win his first PGA Tour title in 2023. LIV Golf pro; Joaquin Niemann also used this iron to capture the 2023 ISPS HANDA Australian Open with it. Seems like it is the winner’s choice as it is much softer and more forgiving for pros who like to take a bit of a risk. So it’s no surprise that the iron comes at a hefty price of $1,487.50 while the shaft only costs about $38.

That’s all the long-range clubs Tony Finau has. But what will he use when he is approaching the green? Let’s find out
Tony Finau’s putters and wedges
Having Nelly Korda by his side, Finau might not need to worry too much about short-range strokes. However, when he does need to come into action, the 6X PGA Tour winner has a number of options in his bag. Finau carries 3 different putters along with him. The Ping Glide s159 is a piece Viktor Hovland also prefers as Finau has two variants of the same; 50° & 56°. The $179.99 wedges are best used for sleep-angle strokes that offer a lot of forgiveness while scoring. Finau also has the Titleist Vokey Design WedgeWorks Proto, another club from Scottie Scheffler’s bag. The $299.99 wedge ensures low bounce and is a favorite of many pros around the world.

The Ping PLD Anser 2D Prototype is a trademark Tony Finau piece that he has been using for quite some time now. It is perfect for players with a slight arc stroke who want a soft feel of the hit. It is priced at $449.99 on e-stores. Finally, all his clubs go well with the Titleist Pro V1 Left Dot, a $55 golf ball that the likes of Patrick Cantlay and Billy Horschel also use.
