There have been a lot of friendships in the golf world but there’s one that stands out among all of them. Tom Kim’s rise to golf stardom was very unexpected and amazing to see but it was his off-course achievement that made the headlines. The Seoul native formed an unbreakable bond with fellow golfer Scottie Scheffler in his years of rising as a golf star but before that, Kim was friends with another golfing sensation.

Kim talked about his friendship with Jordan Spieth and Scheffler in an interview with Golf Monthly sometime ago and from what fans have read, it sure sounds like fun. Per the report, when Kim got a place in Dallas in the Asian community he quickly became friends with fellow golfers Jordan Spieth and Scheffler who also lived there. And their bromance quickly hit the news with Spieth saying just amazing things about Kim. “It’s fun to be around his youthfulness, seeing how much he’s enjoying the newness of his position, how much he’s enjoying all of it”. 

Both the golfer quickly became bros and Kim even spent last Christmas at Spieth’s place. After the 2023 Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas Kim flew back to Dallas with Spieth and jokingly referred to it as “Jordan air, which is quite hilarious, to be honest. When Spieth realized Kim would be alone for the holiday season the golfer very generously invited him to join his Christmas dinner. Kim revealed that he loved his time with Spieth and his son Sammy. “My family wasn’t home and I was kind of by myself. So I got to spend some time with the Spieths and kind of babysit Sammy, which was really cool.”

However, his bond with Scheffler’s newborn son is also worth noting. Kim recently took to social media to express his admiration for Scheffler’s son who he very adorably called his nephew. And the love is shared from both sides. After the sudden-death playoff at the Travelers Championship where Scottie Scheffler edged out Tom Kim with a clutch two-footer, the fans were sure this would end up in rivalry. However, despite the loss, Kim’s gesture earned him a special place in Scheffler’s family.

Scheffler’s wife Meredith Scheffler warmly hugged Kim while holding little Bennet and said, “Tom, I’m proud of you. I’m so proud of you.” But the best part was when Meredith tried to get Bennett to say, “I love Uncle Tom.” Kim does have a special bond with Spieth and  Scheffler’s family. Kim is almost a decade younger than Spieth and according to him, the friendship he has with the older golfer is no short of amazing.

Jordan Spieth gives Tom Kim such a hard time 

Tom Kim’s friendship with Jordan Spieth has been a game changer, per Kim. The two golfers have become close over the years and they also share the same golf coach, Cameron McCormick which has only made their bond stronger. The 22-year-old golfer finds his friendship with Spieth to be ‘special’.  Spieth’s years of experience in golf have taught Kim valuable lessons on and off the course. “They’ve definitely taught me a lot”, said Kim, talking about Spieth and his coach.

“Just everything about not only golf but also life itself. They’ve experienced so much, they’re on top of their games, and they’re on an elite level, so you definitely learn so much from them”, he continued. This supportive friendship has helped Kim grow, both personally and professionally. According to Kim, he asks a lot of questions and Spieth answers them very attentively but not without taking a lighthearted jab at him first. “I ask a lot of questions and they answer very honestly, which I’m grateful for.
