The 55th edition of the RBC Heritage event is in full swing at the Hilton Head. Day 3 of the tournament saw Matt Fitzpatrick take the lead, as the golfer is now three strokes ahead of Patrick Cantlay. Meanwhile, defending champion Jordan Spieth settled for the third position on the leaderboard.

Another golfer who has been in sensational form this week is World No. 2 Scottie Scheffler, who is currently ranked at T4. On Saturday, the 26-year-old Scheffler shed light on the fatigue that followed him into the PGA Tour event, sharing that he wanted to “get some rest.

The 2023 Masters came to a thrilling end last Sunday, with Jon Rahm clinching his first-ever green jacket. Just four days later, most of the competing golfers made their way to Hilton Head for the 2023 RBC Heritage event. Scottie Scheffler, who finished at T10 in Augusta, is one of the golfers competing at the PGA Tour event this week.

The New Jersey native has had a packed 2023 so far. In February this year, he successfully defended the WM Phoenix Open Title by beating Nick Taylor. Another victory came in the form of the Players Championship title win in March. Later, the golfer appeared at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, walking home with a whopping $1,145,000 in earnings.

After a hectic few months, it is normal for fatigue to catch up with the golfer. In the past, defending RBC Heritage winner Jordan Spieth and 2023 Masters champion Rahm had also talked about their struggles. In his post-round interview on Saturday, Scheffler shared that he was tired after a whole day’s play.

I mean, I’m a little tired right now just because we finished,” revealed the player. However, he said his goal was to “go home, get some rest” to prepare for the next round. The golfer also divulged that he wasn’t doing much other than playing this week. “I haven’t been doing much this week outside of playing, so I haven’t been practicing as much after the round and stuff like that, so just try to go home and get some rest.

Last Sunday, 28-year-old Jon Rahm became the fourth Spaniard in history to win the Masters tournament. After the Major win, Rahm headed straight to the Harbour Town Golf Links for the RBC Heritage event. However, the golfer struggled to repeat his Augusta heroics, finishing his third round at 69 to settle for the 21st position.

After Friday’s round, the golfer admitted that his inconsistent play had much to do with his exhausted body. Recently, Jordan Spieth also admitted to being mentally fatigued due to the bustling PGA Tour schedule. Spieth, who won the RBC Heritage event last year, is currently two positions behind Matt Fitzpatrick on the leaderboard. He will be hoping to bounce back during the final round of the event.
