The world no. 16 Charley Hull gave the Lotte Championship a miss ahead of the Chevron Championship at Carlton Woods. The golfer had appeared at the DIO Implant LA Open, finishing T15 on the leaderboard. She also had a good showing at the LPGA Drive On Championship last month, finishing at the 7th spot.
Now, the 27-year-old looks more than ready to take on other golfing heavyweights at the first LPGA major of the year. On Wednesday, she showed off some sensational shots on Instagram, sharing, “It’s go time.” Fans were impressed with her clinical swings, with one fan commenting that it was “Time for a major!!”

The 2023 edition of the Chevron Championship will take place at The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas, for the first time since its inception in 1972.
What is the prize purse for the 2023 Chevron Championship?
The 2023 Chevron Championship is gearing up to be a thrilling event with top LPGA stars headlining the event. The 144-player field at the tournament will feature the likes of Lydia Ko, Nelly Korda, Jin Young Ko, Lexi Thompson, and more. Defending champion Jennifer Kupcho is also returning to compete in the LPGA major.

This year, the Chevron Championship has a total prize purse of $5.1 million. Per LPGA Tour’s prize money distribution chart, the owner will take home $765,000, the standard 15 percent of the total purse. The major winner will also clinch 600 points toward the season-long race to the CME Globe as well as a five-year exemption on the LPGA Tour, with berths into other big tournaments.
Meanwhile, the runner-up will still take home $479,680 in earnings. The LPGA star coming in third will win $347,974. Following the standard cut, the players in the top 65 positions on the leaderboard will take home shares of the prize purse. The golfer, who finishes last, will walk away with $11,555.
