This week the TimberTech Championship is returning for its 17th consecutive year where the golfers from the PGA TOUR Champions will be participating. Bernhard Langer will be returning as the defending champion.

The event will be hosted by the Old Course at The Broken Sound Club, The Old Course, Boca Raton, Florida from November 3-5. All three rounds will be telecast nationwide on the Golf Channel. Let’s learn what is the prize purse of the event and other important details.

Attractive field at the 2023 TimberTech Championship

The tournament purse this year is the same as last year’s $2.2 million. Last year the tournament was won by Bernhard Langer with a total weekly score of -17 and this week he is returning to defend his title.

Other names on the field will be Padraig Harrington, Steve Alker, Ernie Els, David Toms, Jerry Kelly, and Y.E. Yang. This is the second tournament in the Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs. The first Playoffs took place in Dominion Energy Charity Classic, Virginia, with Harrison Frazar winning in a one-hole playoff.

The final tournament will be the Charles Schwab Cup Championship next week, hosted by Phoenix, Arizona. The old course where the game is scheduled is a favorite venue of players like Angel Jimenez and Langer and the game will be a three-day event instead of the usual four days.

Prize Money breakdown of the TimberTech Championship

Out of the total purse, the winner’s share coming to $350,000 and the second and third-place winners take home $200,000 and $175,000 respectively. Here is the prize money breakdown.
