In a video that went viral, a woman is seen hitting a golf ball on the foothills of the Great Canyon. While she indeed connects with the ball, a part of her club detaches itself and flings into the bowels of the Canyon. The stunned lady, later identified as Katie Sigmond, then reacted to the bizarre shot on camera, which got her an unwanted promotion from the Facebook page of the Grand Canyon National Park.

“Do we really need to say, ‘don’t hit golf balls into the Grand Canyon?'” the caption containing a snapshot of the event read. The picture was taken at the edge of the canyon’s South Rim, near Mather Point. It also stated that such actions threatened those in the lower echelons of the hills, such as hikers and wildlife.

The actions invited a plethora of criticisms, which requested officials to look into the matter. Indeed, public affairs specialist at the Park’s service told that three Class B misdemeanor charges had been filed for “creating hazardous conditions, littering, throwing the objects themselves.”
