Travis Kelce is turning heads. No, it’s not because of football but for his outfit inspired by 15x major champion Tiger Woods. That’s right. The Kansas City Chiefs star made a rare public appearance at the 8 AM Invitational golf tournament hosted by Justin Timberlake. He was spotted wearing an interesting combination at a golf tournament. Interestingly, his reason to wear these also comes with a back story.
Kelce, best known for his football skills, was joined by his brother Jason Kelce as he enjoyed a golf-filled break from football in Las Vegas. While doing so, he appeared in a white bucket hat, a peach-and-white striped polo shirt, cream-colored knee-length trousers, and a standout pair of Nike Victory Tour 4 golf shoes.
The white striped polo shirt is the highlight here. It’s the same design of polo shirt that Tiger Woods wore back in 1994 after winning the U.S. Amateur Championship tournament at the TPC at Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. It’s now available in Tiger Woods’ Sunday Red collection. He talked about it and said, “Sunday Red on little Friday, you know what I am saying.”

Kelce’s reason for the outfit was simple—he wanted to wear a polo shirt to match them with his golf shoes. When asked how he picked it up, the 35-year-old responded, “I just went salmon, shoutout to the 90s. Tiger Woods in the 90s at that,” and also gave Woods a shoutout for his victory.

Interestingly, he also seems a fan of what Tiger Woods wears on the golf greens. Back in 2021, he talked about his reason and said, “I’m a Nike athlete, I grew up in the 1990s and early 2000s when Tiger Woods was at his peak, so I’m real big always rocking the Tiger Woods gear—especially red on Sundays.” That seems true. When Tiger Woods won his first masters back in 1997, he was wearing a red Nike polo shirt. Fast forward all the way to 2019, when the GOAT won his 15th major, he was once again wearing a red Nike polo shirt paired with black pants.

It’s evident that Woods inspires the Kansas City Chiefs star’s clothing. Additionally, he also seems to be a fan of golf in general and attends big tournaments like the masters.
