Tiger Woods might not be in his best shape at this moment. But he was once the undisputable king of golf, especially during the 2000s. Take his 2000 season for instance. The 15X Major Champion appeared in twenty events, and he did not miss the cut in any of them. And that’s not all, he had nine wins in one season, and four runner-ups too.

Having earned a whopping $9,188,321, in a year, he also bagged the fourth Major of his career in the same season. At the 2000 PGA Championship Woods defeated Bob May in a playoff. The American golfer was impressive with his game at the Major. He was tied for the lead after four rounds at 18-under with May.

His earnings might have been a decent amount back then, but back then the prize money was not as much as it is now. The total purse of the 2000 PGA Championship was just $5 million, but now it has risen to a whopping $18.5 million as of 2024. Jamie Kennedy researched his 2000 season earnings, and it was shared on the official Instagram account of Ziregolf. So if it were to be compared in terms of 2024, the amount is estimated to be $92 million! Unbelievable isn’t it? Well, that’s the legend for you!
