Digging into the golf world, it is a widely accepted notion that Woods’ golfing career was his father’s dream. However, what often goes unnoticed is the role of his mother, Kultida Woods. Going back in time, he once opened up about the contribution of his parents, along with pointing out the stricter one between the two.

Tiger Woods presents a detailed account of his parents

The year 2017 was one of the few handfuls of unpleasant years for Woods. Undergoing his fourth back surgery, the Californian player played only two tour events throughout the year. However, as one says, a dull evening is followed by a brighter morning. While he took a backstep on the golfing side, he compensated for it with the launch of his book, ‘The 1997 Masters: My Story.’

Considering the aura of Woods, it goes without saying that the book took no time to catch a boom in the market. A couple of days after the launch, Woods indulged in a conversation with a media house. During the conversation, he further elaborated on the contribution of his parents to his upbringing.

“My dad was always the person who would plant seeds and give me encouragement but also would say things that would fester inside me that wouldn’t come to fruition for a while. He was very worldly and deep in his thinking,” he spoke about his Army Veteran father. “My mom was the enforcer,” he added about his Thai mother.

Going ahead in the conversation, he further elaborated on how he always feared his mother despite his father being in the special forces. “My dad may have been in the Special Forces, but I was never afraid of him. My mom’s still here, and I’m still deathly afraid of her,” he said.

“She’s a very tough, tough old lady, very demanding. She was the hand, she was the one, I love her so much, but she was tough,” he further added.
