And when it comes to celebrating a special day, the golfer leaves no stone unturned to make the best out of it. He once booked one of the most famous bands to perform at his wedding with Elin Nordegren.

Tiger Woods booked a prestigious band for his wedding

Woods got married to Elin Nordegren on 5th October 2004. And it was not some ordinary wedding between two people. Being rich comes with its benefits, and Woods knows well where to spend his money. The golfer wanted to make his special day memorable for himself as well as his ex-wife Nordegren.

The wedding was observed on the Caribbean Island of Barbados and reports say that Woods spent a total of $3 million on his wedding. The Sandy Lane resort received over 500 roses on the day. The golfer also called in a special team of hairdressers from London at his expense. Adding up to the luxury of the wedding, the golfer booked one of the most well-known bands of the time, the oscar-winning group, Hootie and the Blowfish. The rock band played for hours at the Green Monkey golf course’s 19th hole.

And there were complete precautions for the security of the couple on their big day. The golf legend got the venue covered with armed security personnel to keep away the paparazzi and the onlookers. The two then exchanged their beautiful rings under a spectacular sunset.

Who was present at Woods’ wedding?

The golfer kept his guest list limited to 100-150 people. He rented the Sandy Lane Hotel which included 112 rooms for his guests. The rooms at the Sandy Lane hotel cost around $700 to $8,000 per night. And so, only the ones who were close to the families of Woods and Nordegren were invited to attend the wedding.

Woods invited his old friends and former Basketball stars, Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley. The event also witnessed the presence of Oprah Winfrey and Bill Gates. Woods’ parents and Nordegren’s mother also attended their wedding and gave their blessings to the couple.
