Shipnuck explained that Tiger Woods wants to convey to the tour that “Man, I built this, and you guys are screwing it up.” The golf writer added, “The PGA Tour is a huge part of his legacy…and he doesn’t want all these things to be devalued. Shipnuck has a new name for Woods

In his interview, Shipnuck said that Woods is acting like the “De Facto” commissioner for the PGA Tour. His words were in context to the authority Woods is currently being allowed to exercise. Reports said that Woods earlier helped the tour to shortlist the top players for something specific.

Shipnuck also mentioned in an earlier tweet a few days ago that Woods held a similar session in the meeting as he did in Adare Manor. He also doubted if Woods was receiving guidance from Jay Monahan, commissioner of the PGA Tour. However, there is no official role that Woods plays in the tour meetings other than as an integral player. But his opinion is sincerely valued and followed by the Tour at all times.
