Yes, Woods has always kept his health forward, but doing too much of it is detrimental to one’s health.

He went through many serious back injuries and accidents, but he has always come back stronger. Although it is not a good practice to spend hours at the gym if it becomes the reason for a severe back injury. Something like this happened with Woods, back in 2014, and he received backlash from his coach and his fellow golfers.
Tiger Woods’ workout obsession
In 2014, when Tiger Woods first suffered a back injury, people blamed him for working out hard at the gym without proper rest. The reason for the blame was his changed physique early that year. He looked jacked up and in better shape. But when he landed with the injury, heavy weightlifting at the gym were pointed out as the major cause.
Woods emphasized on strength training, even though his coach, Hank Haney, did not approve of it. Hank said that Woods was doing more than required during the workout and his obsession could be a problem. He said, “Tiger overdoes it in the gym.”
It was not just his coach who was worried about Woods overdoing it, his fellow golfers were equally concerned. Former No.5, Ian Poulter, tweeted “75% of injuries are caused in the gym.” Paul Azinger, an American professional golfer, and TV golf analyst agreed with Ian and said that Yoga and stretching made more sense to him rather than heavy weightlifting.

Woods’ reaction to the severe backlash regarding his workout sessions
After receiving heat from everyone for his workout schedule, Tiger Woods talked to the media. As everyone was pointing fingers at lifting heavy weights, former No. 1 said that a lack of gym and workout was the reason for his struggles that summer. Woods did not hit a golf ball for a month then, but he was working out hard at the gym to build up his strength. So that when he returned, he came back stronger.
