There is no need to introduce Tiger Woods to the world of sports. He is considered the face and the greatest of all in time in the golf community. He has created a name for himself with his record-breaking wins and achievements. 

Similarly, the Swedish golfer Annika Sorenstam is the most popular and accomplished in the female golfing community. Like Woods on PGA Tour, she also tops the career earnings list on the LPGA Tour. While he made $120,895,206 throughout his career as tournament earnings, she earned $22,583,693

Notably, the LPGA offers much less prize money for winning a tournament than the PGA Tour. However, how many tournaments she had to win to make millions in her career? Has she won as many as the GOAT in the male golfing community? 

Battle of the GOATs: Does Tiger Woods has more titles than Annika Sorenstam? 

Tiger Woods turned professional in 1996 and won his first tour win the same year at Las Vegas Invitational. Moreover, he won his first major at the 1997 Masters Tournament. As of now, among the 371 events he played on the Tour, the golfer has won 82 of them.

This includes his 15 majors, 18 World Golf Championships, and 2 PLAYERS Championship wins. Notably, he also has won on other Tours, including the European Tour, Asian Tour, and the PGA Tour of Australasia. According to his website tigerwoods.com, he has won 106 tournaments, including all his 82 Tour wins and other international victories. 

On the other hand, Annika Sorenstam turned professional in 1993 and started playing on the LPGA Tour a year later. She has made a start in the 306 events on the Tour and has won 72 times, including 10 major titles.

Like Woods, Sorenstam has also won championships on other tours, making her have 90 total wins worldwide. 

Does Sorenstam hold the record of winning the most LPGA Tour titles? 

Woods has a record of winning the most number of titles on the PGA Tour. He holds the record with the veteran golfer Sam Snead, who also has won 82 Tour titles.

Although Sorenstam has impressive 72 wins on the LPGA Tour, she doesn’t hold the record. As a matter of fact, she is not even the second on the list. Kathy Whitworth (88) and Mickey Wright (82) have more Tour career victories than her.

Sorenstam may have lesser records and wins than Woods. However, she still has inspired many female golfers worldwide, and they look up to her as their role model.
