This week, Tiger Woods, a 15-time major championship winner, and the joint record holder of most PGA Tour wins, is going to be present at the 2022 Genesis Invitational. He will be present in a PGA event after more than a year. What does that mean? Is he back? Surprisingly the professionals spoke about a supposed return to the PGA Tour and playing again.

The moment that every golf fan is eagerly waiting for is finally here. Tiger makes his first presence on the 2022 season at the Genesis Invitational.

Tiger Woods on his return to the PGA Tour

Tiger is the host of the event and will be present at the event. However, inconsolably for the fans,
Woods will not be playing at the event. Tiger held a press conference at the Riviera Country Club before the start of the event and revealed probably the most incredible news of the season.

Woods made a media appearance on Wednesday, just a day before the start of the event. Tiger spoke about the event itself as well as, about a supposed return to the PGA Tour on a full-time basis.

Tiger Wood said, “Will I come back? Yes. Will I come back and play a full schedule? No. I said that at Albany, that will never happen again. I can play certain events here and there, but on a full-time level, no, that will never happen again.”

He added, “Pick and choose my events, whether they’re Majors or other events, I can do something like that, but come back and playing the Tour, yes, but not on a full-time basis.”

Well, not the news fans were expecting, but he will play again and we can see Tiger back in action. When? well, that time will only tell. Nonetheless, Tigers’ fans will be extremely happy to hear the news.

2022 Genesis Invitational prize money

Probably one of the most events of the 2022 PGA Tour season is here. Genesis Invitational stars on February 17th with some of the biggest names in the sport playing this week. The total prize money purse for the event is a whopping $12 million. As a result, the winner of the event will be taking home a share of prize money worth $2.16 million.
