It led to Woods playfully handing out a packet of Tampax to Thomas, which was spotted by the cameras on the course. Many had a laugh about it, while others seemed the incident was unnecessary. However, Woods’ actions have made an organization, that prides itself in women’s empowerment, very unhappy.
The Women’s Global Empowerment Fund, a non-profit organization based out of Denver, issued a statement after the aforementioned incident. Karen Sugar, CEO of the company, left no stone unturned in her choice of words for Woods. She claimed it was misogynistic but also tone-deaf and disrespectful of the golfer to females all over the world.
Sugar was also left stunned that Woods, father to a daughter, could act in such a shameful manner. She believed that the incident sent the wrong message to the issues surrounding mental health and periods, which women and girls go through around the globe.
Moreover, she was also forced to think whether Woods was suggesting that “periods are embarrassing or shameful or a sign of weakness?” with his act. With such speculations on the rise after the incident, what did Woods have to say regarding the tampon incident?

Did Woods apologize for his tampon act?
The 47-year-old was aware of his act making the rounds after the end of the day’s play. “It was supposed to be all fun and games,” he said regarding the incident with Thomas. “Obviously it hasn’t turned out that way. If I offended anybody in any way, shape, or form, I’m sorry.”
But that wasn’t the only news around Woods last night. The 15-time major championship winner had a terrible Friday, which pushed him down the scores. But he was able to scrape past the cut line, which gives him another opportunity to prove his worth.
