Lexi Thompson's retirement: Will the LPGA ever find another star with her charisma and talent?

Lexi Thompson’s hiatus just got better! It has been over a month since the 29-year-old teed up at any LPGA Tour events as the race to the CME Group Tour Championship gets intense. Only the top 60 in the race to the CME Globe rankings will tee up in Naples for the LPGA’s season finale. And Thompson is secured for the final event as she is 45th on the list. Even though it is a challenging tournament, Thompson does not let it derail her from enjoying her life.

In the past month, the 1-time major winner has been more active on social media as she promotes her fitness app or gets recognized for her exceptional skills. No matter whether she is off or on the course, her aura is impossible to miss, as even Justin Timberlake, Tiger Woods’s business partner at the T-Sqaure Bar, couldn’t ignore her. On his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, Timberlake, the musician and avid golfer landed in Sunrise, Florida, at the Amerant Bank Arena.

There, Thompson got the chance to watch the singer play his best song and enjoy her night as she pleased. Thompson posted some snippets from the concert as she grooved to the music and got a special shout-out from Timberlake. As soon as the singer recognized Thompson in the crowd, he gestured at her with a golf swing, and it would be fair to say, Thompson beamed at that.

While Timberlake’s shout-out was quite surprising and special for the LPGA star, it is a kind of tradition that the musician does when there is a golfer in his concert. He did the same when Sergio Garcia and his wife, Angela Garcia, watched him in Austin. Nonetheless, seeing their favorite LPGA Tour pro enjoying the night away made the golf fans happy too.

Have an interesting take?

This is the last year Lexi Thompson will be as active on the course as she has been. Unfortunately, she will be retiring, as she had revealed in May. That will be a huge change for golf fans to not see Thompson tee up in 2025, but for the time being, they are focused on her growth and what is currently up to. Seeing the 29-year-old enjoying the concert, this follower commented, “Love to see you this HAPPY.”

On the other hand, when Justin Timberlake recognized the pro, it also impressed the fans, as one laughingly said, “Hahahaha that’s awesome af!!!” Indeed, it gets someone special to get Timberlake’s attention when he is on the stage in his world! Another user praised both Thompson and Timberlake for what they have achieved in their respective professions and impressively commented, “Real recognizes Real⛳️ 🎤.”

Thomspon has been around professional golf since she was only 12 years old. In the last two decades, she has won many times, helped the American team at the Solheim Cup, and become the golf world’s favorite pro. So who wouldn’t know the Lexi Thompson? Surely, someone who is also a golf lover like Timberlake would know all about the LPGA Tour’s star. Thus, this fan said, “Even in a crowd at a different venue, Lexi and that smile still draws attention like the superstar she is!!”

While Thompson cannot play at every event and every other country, the fans still watch her from afar. The pretty gesture of Timberlake to acknowledge Thompson at his concert was unexpected but impressive. And it was also taken in a different light by this fan. They said, “Lexi, that was a direct shot to the heart… good for you… it makes me happy to see you happy and enjoying what you have achieved as a professional and as a person. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina!🇦🇷 👏👏👏👏”

The next time you see Lexi Thompson, she may be at the gym or somewhere else, but her presence at the ANNIKA Driven by Gainbridge is confirmed, so book your slots to watch her play the event for the last time!
